The smell of popcorn in cinemas. There has not been a single trip made to the pictures without me buying a small bag of salted popcorn to date. Most evenings at home too, watching Homeland or the like, there sits a bowl of warm popcorn snuggled into my lap, with that smell reaching my nostrils again, but this time also of toasty spices. With the turn of the weather this is even more comforting, particularly with a small glass of red wine. So let’s draw the curtains, settle in and grab a bowl of this this insanely tasty and easy popcorn, using a bag of already popped corn.

Ingredients
40g Pre-popped salted popcorn
Pinch of turmeric (little less than 1/4 tsp)
Pinch of garam masala (little less than 1/4 tsp)
Pinch of cayenne pepper or chilli powder
Pinch of salt
Sunflower oil
Method
Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Add the popcorn to a roasting dish, along with all pinches of spices and salt (to taste). Drizzle a little oil over, and mix in. Pop into the oven for 5 minutes.
Enjoy your easy masala popcorn, because there’s no going back now.
